I wrote this little story in honor of my mom last month when I found out that Kaitlyn and Ciara would be holding the #SpringFling Writing Contest.
I was really excited because it gave me a reason to write another story! But it also gave me an opportunity to write for my mom, who passed away last April.
It was a bittersweet moment when I wrote the words, but it was also so cathartic for my heart.
So here’s to my mom, the best mom to me and most loving grandma to her 15 grandbabies.

My mom & daughter meeting each other for the first time.

THE WAY TO A MOTHER’S HEART
The way to a mother’s heart is with the fanciest drawings.
Squiggly lines, bright rainbows, and little hearts.
Let them fill up every corner
and white space on your page.
The way to a mother’s heart is with a kiss,
or two
or three!
There’s no limit, so kiss away!
The way to a mother’s heart is with a song.
Make one up and sing it proudly.
It will bring her joy,
and your voice
will bring her comfort.
The way to a mother’s heart is with a dance.
Tap, twist, and twirl!
But don’t be surprised,
she may dance along!
The way to a mother’s heart is with a hug.
Spread your arms wide then hold her inside.
She’ll feel the love
in your warm embrace.
But the best way to a mother’s heart is with
three little words.
Just make sure you say
them aloud.
I Love You!
Beautiful tribute to your Mom.
